Our Role
Our role is to help you discover Bordeaux wines no matter where you live
The CIVB (Bordeaux Wine Council) created the Bordeaux Wine School in 1989, and our mission ever since has been to help you discover the many facets of our wines through hands-on tasting workshops and straightforward introductory courses!
The Bordeaux Wine School is housed in an elegant building in central Bordeaux, just above the must-visit CIVB wine bar.
Since 2006, we’ve also been active all over the world through our international network of accredited tutors and renowned partner establishments.

Far more than just wine courses, our workshops tailored to private individuals offer time for friendly discussion and memorable wine tastings. They are the perfect way to delve deeper into our surprising terroirs and the work of our talented men and women!
We are also particularly attentive to the needs of wine professionals, and as such, offer training specific to your sector, whether you work in distribution, industry, tourism or food service. The Bordeaux Wine Council provides these courses free of charge, and they reflect both the realities of your working life and the demands of your profession.

about what they do!There are no “old-school” teachers here. The Bordeaux Wine School thrives on the work of 250 accredited tutors based in over 20 countries Each and every one of them is driven by the same desire to share their love and expertise of wine, in addition to their regular line of work.
From winegrowers to negociants, oenologists, cellar masters, sommeliers and restaurateurs, their profiles and backgrounds are as varied as their experience in their own countries, making each of our wine tasting workshops a unique experience.
