Riad holds a Bachelor in hotel management and obtained his Master's degree in tourism at the KU Leuven where he was awarded a prize for his thesis "Gay Tourism: Supply and Policy in Antwerp/Flanders". He holds titles as Maître Sommelier and obtained the coveted Diploma in Wines and Spirits at WSET. Riad also won the silver prize in the prestigious Best Sommelier of Belgium Trophée Ruinart 2003 competition. His knowledge and experience is complemented by his many professional wine trips to all corners of the world. His extended experience he gained in top catering establishments. This is all proof of the fact he’s specialized in the F&B sector. Since September 2010, he has been a lecturer at the AP University of Applied Sciences where he teaches F&B Managenet & Operations. Riad co-founded the luxurious small-scale hotel project Cabosse in Antwerp, which won the prize "Best Hotel Concept" category awarded by the hospitality magazine Venuez. Riad Hoxhaxhiku's in-depth knowledge and insights into the broad hospitality sector, as well as his policy understanding of the tourism industry, provide him with a wide range of competencies that are useful today. He makes full use of all these assets during his lectures and guidance of students as well as in the support and development of concepts in the hospitality and oenotourism sectors, among others.
