I arrived in China in 2003 while studying Mandarin at the university in France. After completing a Master Degree in International Affairs, I worked for five years for a wine importer in Nanning (Guangxi Region), before setting up my own company – Zhulian Wines Consulting. My fluency in Chinese, both spoken and written, helped me to attract many readers and followers on social media (near 100,000 followers on Weibo and 13,000 on WeChat today). I started to study wine around 2007 and became an accredited educator for the Bordeaux Wine School in 2008. I passed the WSET Diploma (Level 4) in 2012 and the Advanced Sommelier exam of the Court of Master Sommelier in 2016. In 2019, I passed the Master of Wine exam and became one of the four Masters of Wine currently living in China. I judge for various wine competitions in China and Hong Kong (Wine100, Decanter Asia Wine Awards, etc.) and write sporadically for various wine publications. In 2020, I was named Personality of the Year 2019 at the Annual Wine Development Oscars; Top Ten Figures of WBO Wine Industry Awards, and Best Wine Educator of the Year 2019 by Sommelier Magazine.
